Why is Troop C140 Carrying a Rock at the Jamboree?

It’s a Rock from Missouri and the Great Rivers Council

Troop C140 is carrying a rock that has been tumbled and shaped by the waters moving overland into the Missouri River.  The rock has the Council’s name and number sandblasted into the face.  Someone, or several individuals of the Troop, will carry the rock up to the summit of Garden Ground Mountain when they hike on Friday, July 19, 2013.

The rock will then be used, together with the rocks from other Councils, to construct a fire ring on the summit.
